About This Listing

Lovely players 1976 Fender Stratocaster with an old, nicely worn-in, aged Blonde professional lacquer refin.

1976 was aesthetically a transition year for the Stratocaster, the plastics transition from fully White to Black and for a short period would feature a cool looking black pickguard and white pickup cover combo for a short period.

Beneath the old Blonde refin the body is Ash. Being Ash the guitar was likely Blonde originally but could have been Natural. The body has had no other mods and construction is consistent with this period of production. The Rosewood fingerboard has been refretted and sports a new nut, the heel displays a 1976 date code. Electronically the guitar is nicely complete with three 1976 Fender single coil Stratocaster pickups and a matched trio of early 1976 CTS pots bearing the code 1377606. The added 5 way switch offers access to all the classic Strat tones. Tuners are the correct Fender Schaller type and the bridge saddles have been changed for brass examples. The neck has a decent depth to its C profile, the frets have been played and have been dressed to a flatter profile yet the guitar plays well.
