About This Listing

2000 Fender Stratocaster, USA America, Sunburst, Closet Queen, Gig Bag

All original, incredibly well-preserved Fender American Stratocaster in Sunburst. Rosewood fretboard. Absolutely no issues, repairs or stories.

I purchased this American made (more specifically, "Made in Corona, USA) Fender Stratocaster in 2001.  It sat in the closet most of the time. It is in outstanding condition.

Serial number check on the Fender.com website shows a manufacturing date of May 2000, # Z0039554.

The American Standard Series is a true expression of Fender's evolution. Started in 1983 as Fender's regular line, the Standard Series, and established as the American Standard Series in 1986, the series continues to meet the needs of guitar players, combining tradition and evolution. The controls include master volume, front pickup tone, middle pickup tone, and a 5-way pickup selector switch. The truss rod is a bi-flex truss rod that works for both forward and reverse warping of the neck. It is a traditional guitar with medium jumbo frets and 22 frets for excellent playability. It's a classic guitar with excellent playability.

The back of the neck has a smudge by the headstock due to the guitar hanger the guitar was in for a few days.

Product Overview
Introduced at Summer NAMM of 2000, Fender's newly-minted American Series Stratocaster saw numerous minor changes to the American Standard Strat's platform, from pickguard and tuners to newly-designed pickups and the overall feel of the neck, with slightly rolled edges to make for a more "broken-in" feel. Once again, the guitars were offered with both alder and ash bodies, maple or rosewood fingerboards, and a plethora of finish options new and old.
