Please note I have an entire photoshoot of this guitar, but Reverb only allows 25 pictures to be uploaded. Message me for a gallery link! It truly astonishes me how some high-dollar Reverb listings only have maybe five or so pictures.

Dave's Guitars Charlotte is proud to offer an uncirculated 1965 Fender Stratocaster in its original finish Sunburst. This guitar has pre-CBS buyout specs meaning mint guard, clay dot inlays, etc. Super nice Strat!

Our seller received this as a gift Christmas morning 1965. His choice was between a Gibson Firebird and a Strat. How could he have gone wrong?! It is factory original except for a stainless steel refret in keeping with period-correct size. A true gem replete with every feature a mid-1960s Strat fan wants, and I couldn't be happier to offer it for sale.

Correct "no logo" original black tolex case, strap, 3-way switch, original—untouched—solder connections...what more could you want? With only two previous neck pulls—both for appraisals, I am the third person to ever take the guitar apart. The neck pocket is tight and feels great! I am happy to email purchaser high-quality photos so the neck nor guard will ever have to be removed again to verify components.

These are sure to continue appreciating in value, and with inflation on the rise, it isn't a bad hedge either. Get yours today before its too late...

Neck Depth in inches: 1st fret 0.77; 5th fret 0.85; 7th fret 0.88; 9th fret 0.91; 12th fret 0.94

Being picky, its cosmetic condition is 7/10–yes, there are are scratches, dings, and signs of usage over the past several decades. This is a used guitar.

I thoroughly examine all outgoing shipments one last time before packaging to ensure condition meets our listed condition; this listing's condition is Very Good.

This will be professionally packaged in a sturdy cardboard box.

Product Overview
Perhaps more than any other year, 1965 marks a major turning point for Fender and Stratocaster production. It was in 1965 that CBS took control of the company, and brought the first wave of changes to a more mass production based model. Key indicators for Stratocasters of this transition era are a larger headstock compared to previous years as well as a script 'F' on the neck plate. In 1965, Fender also brought back the maple fingerboard as an option on a two-piece neck. While most collectors and players consider post-CBS Strats to be of an inferior quality to older models, these instruments remain very collectable on the vintage market. A key determining factor is the serial number: CBS switched from numbers starting with an L to numbers starting with an F. Those starting with an L are from earlier in the year and are generally more sought-after.

Years of Production: 1954 - present

Unique to this Year: Switch from clay to pearloid dot inlays on fingerboard, enlarged headstock, and a somewhat less dramatic contouring shape on the body.

Wood Composition: Alder body, Maple neck with veeneer Rosewood fingerboard

Design Elements: Bolt-on neck, dot inlays, 3 single-coil pickups, 3-way pickup selector

Finish Specifications: Sunburst was a standard finish for '60s Fenders.

Notable Players:  Bob Dylan, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour
