About This Listing

Late 1950's Gibson L-48 Archtop Acoustic Guitar with a Sunburst finish. Overall in great condition for its age with very little play wear. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The serial number stamped in the f-hole is difficult to read so a previous owner wrote it in pencil next to the stamp. It is believed to be a late 50's model. Action is very good with no buzzing. The guitar weighs just 4.38 pounds. It has a 1-11/16" nut width. The neck thickness measures 0.873" at the 1st fret and 0.979" at the 12th fret. The top measures 16.25" at the widest and 9.25" at the narrowest. Body length is 20" and body width is 3.25". Scale length is a standard 24.75".

Overall in excellent condition. The body has typical finish checking throughout, along with several minor scuffs and scratches. The finish is still very glossy. The body binding looks good with some typical yellowing and checking. The back has light scuffs and worming. The neck joint looks perfect. The back of the neck is smooth with a few marks. The neck is perfectly straight and the truss rod works. The fingerboard is very clean. The frets have only a hint of wear, and all frets have been polished to a bright shine. The original nut looks good. The top edge of the headstock has some scuffing. A previous owner carved a number on the back of the headstock. All tuners work perfectly.

Includes a non-original hardshell case that fits the guitar well. All latches work, as does the handle. Does not include any other accessories.
