Here we have an original four-piece set of Leedy drums.

From the original non-smoking owner and in exceptional condition. This is a matched set of drums, purchased new, together as a complete set.

Circa 1963, USA-made high quality vintage drums. Blue and gold Leedy, Chicago USA badges.

The Leedy Drum Company was founded in 1890 by U.G. Leedy. Leedy drums are regarded as one of the finest early makers of premium quality drums and percussion instruments. Leedy drums would eventually become affiliated with the Ludwig Drum Company (in partnership with William F. Ludwig) and for may years would sell drums under the Leedy & Ludwig brand. Following the separation of Leedy & Ludwig, Leedy would eventually affiliate with the Slingerland Drum Company, continuing to make drums under the Leedy name until the mid 1960s when the Leedy ceased production. Over the years, Leedy drums have been played by some of the biggest names in drumming history.

This kit is in amazing original condition and has been played sparingly and kept in warm, dry storage, and out of excessive room/window light.

All drums are finished in original blue sparkle. Brilliant, glossy sparkle finish that is even and consistent on all drums. No color fade. No added holes in the shells. All wrap seams are tight -- no lifting or bubbling. The drums look amazing in natural lighting and under stage lights.

Natural finish shell interiors. Interiors, re rings and bearing edges are in excellent condition.

All chrome hardware is original and very clean. No broken parts Brilliant chrome finish. Original chrome over brass Stick Saver hoops on the toms and snare (Leedy and Slingerland collaborative design). Toms and snare drum have their original internal tone control mufflers with external control dials.

Leedy badges on the bass drum around vent hole. The rack tom and floor tom were not made with vent holes and therefore do not carry badging. As previously stated all drums match in terms of color and hardware and we

Bass drum, rack tom and snare drum have mahogany shells with maple reinforcement rings. Floor tom appears to be an all maple shell (maple rings and shell). Drum companies occasionally would use up remaining woods and shells in their production process whereby some drums had a different shell material.

All drum heads are in excellent playing condition. The drums deliver deep, resonate, woody tones with excellent volume and tuning ranges.

Original Leedy single tom mounting post. Original legs/spurs and mounts. Leedy calf skin front resonate head with Leedy USA logo -- appears to be original.
