The top of the line Jay Haide à L'Ancienne violins have gained the reputation of being the finest Chinese instruments available. In looks, sound, and playability they deserve that distinction. As I am local to Ifshin violins, who have these made, I have had the opportunity to pick what I believe to be the best sounding ones over the years. This instrument was made and purchased in 2008, but the student who bought it became more interested in non-musical matters and left it virtually unplayed. As such, it's in pretty much perfect condition, with the original Aubert DeLuxe bridge Ifshin fitted to it. It has a bold full and even sound with plenty of volume, but isn't screechy, and has a full sounding G string. Both the modeling and the varnish are so good on these that Ifshin found it necessary to brand the ribs below the endpin, as people were removing the labels and putting in Italian makers' names. If anyone viewing this lives close to the San Francisco bay area and wishes to try it, that can be arranged. It will come with a decent case, but no bow. Thanks for looking, and let me know if you have any questions.
