Complete Chinese Logo Set: Digitech Bad Monkey - Death Metal - Grunge - Digital Delay - Digital Multi Voice Chorus 2004

Here we have ELEVEN of the rarest Digitech pedals ever made. These are early 2000's era designs, but in the regional "Chinese" labeling/branding. Over the past couple of years, I sourced these from the used Chinese market via several internal sources who gathered them individually through sites, local classifieds, and Chinese auctions and then shipped them directly to me. As much as I love them and can't live without them, it might be time to thin the herd. New hunts are on the horizon, and these funds will go straight to the next chapter of my life.

You will never see this collection in such a clean and complete state again. This is the entire series in original boxes PLUS extra units you can give friends or put on your multiple shoegaze boards around town. As you can see, this includes the two variations of green for the Digitech Bad Monkey. I would value the darker green at $4,590 by itself. A few of the boxed units have never been out of the plastic here in America so as not to lower the value. Each box is an estimated value of between $200.00 - $3,967.00 USD.

The grunge pedals are the best of them all, but I have 21 other original DOD Grunges (Salt Lake / China), so I can let these go if I don't overthink it. I might have to call Tom Cram and vent about it, but I could survive if these get sold.

Additionally, these Digital Delays are seriously underrated and feature a hidden tap tempo function by holding the switch down for three seconds. If you chain these three together, you can sync tempo easily and cover any Slowdive song you want. You can't do that with those Amazon Basics pedals. The Chorus is lush and digital, and the Death Metal will rip through time and space. Simply put, these are professional pedals.

One thing my video didn't cover is that these units do sound better. The Chinese logo/branding has a different feel to my ears. It might just be me, but the taper of the controls is more inviting and I find myself more inspired because I know I'm the only person who has these. At times I can hear smoother highs in the Death Metal, more pronounced mids in the Bad Monkey, and the Grunge is ever so (dare I say it?) harmonically nuanced. My theory is that the parts sourced for these are a bit different because they were manufactured a few years after the original Harmon factory transition. Therefore, the recipe was as perfected as it could get pre-Samsung era. Manufacturing is an art, and IMHO, these are a Rembrandt.

I would advise anyone seriously considering this collection to restring with Ernie Ball 9.5-gauge strings. The difference is there if you listen hard enough. I have had good results through a 1964 Brownface Deluxe with 10.5s. Unlike a lot of American effects, these pedals sound good through any guitar you throw at ’em and with every pickup I've ever played. You can't say that about many pedal brands.
