Vintage Ludwig 1970's Maple Marching Snare Drum - 15x12 - Red/Gold Sparkle
This vintage snare drum is in great overall condition, and has been well taken care of in its lifetime. It shows some typical signs of age-appropriate wear, with some small scratches/smudges on the shell, some light fading and a moderate amount of pitting/wear on the metal components, and some light surface dirt buildup. This drum has no chips, cracks, or any noticeable damage.
This is a 15 x 12 marching snare with 8 lugs, and an internal muffler that is adjustable. The shell is made out of maple, and has a very cool looking vintage red and gold sparkle wrap. The current heads are Ludwig Weathermasters on both the snare and batter sides. These heads still sound good, but it would not hurt to get a new pair of heads for this drum. This drum has the Ludwig blue & olive badge, and was manufactured in the 1970s, although I don't know the exact date of manufacture. This drum also has an original Ludwig leg-mounting bracket for marching-band purposes. This mounting bracket has some age-appropriate wear, with a good amount of pitting and some surface dirt buildup. I am including this bracket disassembled from the drum.
