About This Listing

From the old days, this little Gibson is a vintage player amp that has the look and guts most of us want out of these small box lap steel amps. The BR-9 was made 1948-1950 to go with the BR-9 Steel, it pairs up nicely with those of ones but it also sounds great for a modern guitar amp. It has a small footprint, good small room volume and will get a good tube drive when you dime it and hit it with some humbuckers. It has been modified, fixed mostly, and has a new handle, all new caps, all new resistors, a 3 prong power cord, and the speaker has been reconed by Weber (it is still the field coil). It still has the original transformers, switch, pot and jacks. The exterior at some point was covered in wall paper and they used thumb tacks to hold it on instead of glue. The tacks were removed, the paper peeled and it has a decent rattle can finish to keep the vintage look. Importantly, it has the Gibson grill cover - which is just super neat. The amp over all is in great vintage playing condition, has good replaced parts and good cosmetics.

Enjoy
