About This Listing

Up for sale is a great playing Old Kraftsman Archtop in Honey Burst from the Kay/Harmony Chicago factory in the 1950's.  Like their maker branded brethren, these gems have gained a cult following in recent years due to their combination of old wood, unique tone, and the ultra hip cool factor.

She had a failing heel joint when she came to us so we did the right thing and performed a quick neck reset.  The result is a perfect neck angle, plenty of height at the bridge, and excellent playability with low action.  What more could you ask for?

The neck is a thick U-shaped baseball bat. It starts at .98" and grows to 1.08" at the 12th.  Big, round, and comfy with noticeable shoulder all the way up and down the neck. The fretboard edges are naturally rolled from years of use and the brass frets just received a fresh polish.

This is an example of an early pre-truss rod era build.  Could be late 40's, early 50's.  Two steel reinforcement bars are inlaid in the neck under the fingerboard and they do the trick like a charm. Perfect relief, no adjustments necessary.

You can rest assured that your guitar will arrive safely. Every guitar is detuned and securely fixed inside the case, the fretboard is protected, the headstock is wrapped, and the Aeris packing system keeps it safe inside a new shipping box.  All shipments are fully insured and shipped via UPS Ground unless other arrangements are made prior to purchase.  Please message us for International Shipping quotes and be sure to include your complete address and preferred carrier for a quick response.
