In second position, two silicon diodes and an LED are engaged in an asymmetrical clipping configuration, resulting in a smooth, compressed crunch. The final position produces that classic White Face distortion, chock-full of harmonics and growling sustain.

The Octave side of Life Pedal is an analog full-wave rectifier based on a vintage design. Using the Octave knob, users can slowly blend in the octave effect to their liking. Players can also use the expression control for hands-free octave swills mid-riff, bringing a whole new dimension to solos and breakdowns.
