Amazing Class AB Mic Preamplifier by Audio Maintenance Ltd UK. Very faithful take of the mic amps that were offered as a follow-up to the 1073 in the Neve 80XX series consoles. Personally I'm a bigger fan of the 81 over the 73, but that's just me. Sonically they're very, very similar.
Now, an actual 1081 mic amp from the mid-1970's is going to have one major difference and that's the Marinair transformers. You'll find a nice chonkin' Carnhill in here and the sound is absolute butter.
I had this build finished and calibrated by Trace Audio, who build and sell a lot of CAPI gear on here to stellar reviews. Functions and looks brand spanking new. Slot it up, plug it in, and make music. These are wonderfully musical sounding preamps that shine on everything and anything you fire its way (particularly drums).
