This mahogany-top edition of Taylor GS Mini, featuring a scaled-down Grand Symphony body, combines the appealing look of mahogany's dark, rich-grained complexion with a clear, controlled response that helps level out a player's strumming attack. Between the compact size, easy playability and full-voiced tone and projection, players at every level will love having their Mini within arm's reach wherever they may be. This edition comes equipped with Taylor's onboard ES-B pickup and preamp, which includes tone controls, a built-in tuner and a low battery indicator. GS Mini also coms with a hard bag featuring convenient built-in backpack straps for easy portability.

GS Mini shape
GS Mini was designed to be the ultimate musical companion, wherever you go. Inspired by the big, bold sound of Taylor's Grand Symphony body shape, GS Mini scales things down without skimping on sound, packing a ton of tone into a comfortable travel size and giving you a guitar that's full-voiced and incredibly fun to play. Think of GS Mini as a modern-day parlor guitar, perfect for playing around the house but also built to fit an active lifestyle.

Tropical mahogany top wood
Harder, denser woods like mahogany that are used on the back and sides of a guitar are sometimes used as tops. Their stiffness initially translates into a bright tone and tends to need more play-in time to open up, but the more a mahogany-top guitar is played, the more it develops overtones that contribute to a fuller, richer sound. A mahogany-top guitar might appeal to rootsy players who like a little extra punchiness in their tone.

Layered sapele body wood
While the rich tones of solid wood remain unmatched, a layered wood construction can yield great sound in a beautiful, durable and affordable instrument. Such is the case with layered sapele, which uses interior and exterior veneers of sapele with a core layer of poplar between them. One of the benefits of layered wood for guitars is extra resilience in the face of fluctuating humidity conditions. This comes in handy for models like the GS Mini, which is a travel-friendly guitar that may be more directly exposed to different environments. All Taylor layered-wood models feature a solid wood top to optimize the tonal response.

ES-B electronics
The ES-B pickup incorporates Taylor's Expression System 2 piezo design elements and features an onboard preamp with a built-in digital chromatic tuner. The preamp/tuner unit features an LED display for tuning and low battery indication, along with tone and volume controls. ES-B conserves battery life using a standard on/off system that will automatically turn off if left on over 3 minutes. A handy low battery indicator on the LED display will display an 'L' when the battery reaches 4.5 volts.

Non-cutaway
There's a lot to be said for the clean, traditional look of a non-cutaway acoustic guitar. If you don't plan to play in the upper register or simply prefer the symmetrical hourglass contours of a guitar, a non-cutaway model is a great option.
