In excellent working condition right out of the package and sounds good. This instrument has recently had some small dents removed and has a very nice slide which has been been greased and cared for. The instrument does have some moderate lacquer wear throughout with some areas where it is more significant. This is a great first trombone for someone who is just learning. The slide lock is functional as intended and the slide itself has never had any dents in it. The case is in good condition with buckles functioning as intended. The mouthpiece included is a Vincent Bach 12C.
