Eko Concert Acoustic Luthier Project
This Eko is a cool looking acoustic with a mahogany neck, top, back, and sides. The red finish gives it a distinct look and the aluminum saddle adds unique character. This guitar has a few issues that need to be addressed so please see our notes below.
This Eko is a cool looking acoustic with a mahogany neck, top, back, and sides. The red finish gives it a distinct look and the aluminum saddle adds unique character. This guitar has a few issues that need to be addressed so please see our notes below.
- The neck pulls away from the top under string tension. There is roughly a 1/32" gap between the top and fingerboard with .011"-.052" strings tuned to pitch. This is causing high action and the neck joint will need to be reinforced. It is unclear what type of neck joint is used, it looks like it may be bolted on or a mortis and tenon joint.
- There are two small cracks in the back, one is roughly 1" long and the other is 2" long.
- There are chips, scuffs, and scratches throughout.
- A couple frets have some flat spots, but overall the frets are in nice shape with minimal wear.
