Introducing the 2022 Dax&Co. Ironhorse guitar. 

The bodies are made of all solid wood. A single loaded steel pickguard is mounted to the top of the guitar, not recessed, with everything integrated, even the bridge! The guard covers almost the entire top of the guitar.

The body is solid wood in the center which helps control feedback and allows for a string through design. The sides are hollow under the guard with only two "f" sound holes in the steel to help control resonance and feedback, much like an old jazz guitar or Thinline.

The geometrical patterns on the steel pickguards are hand etched using low voltage electrical current while being submerged in salt water, then different patina's are applied for different colors and effects...all under a clearcoat to prevent corrosion.

YOU WILL LOVE THIS NECK! Ask anyone who plays one of Dax's guitars and they will tell you the neck work is second to none! This is no exception. One of the most comfortable necks you will play. It feels like a vintage neck that's been worn in over time. The fretboard edges have been hand rolled, the finish left off of the back of the neck and the grain sealed for ULTRA fast playing and no "drag". The soft "v" profile just feels right W/ 6150 Nickel Silver (Medium Jumbo) frets and a 10" radius.

UNIQUE TONE! Each Ironhorse guitar is loaded with Rio Grande pickups, simply one of the best pickups being produced in the USA today! These pickups, when installed into the steel produce clear, complex notes with harmonic overtones. They have a metallic twang with an edge when pushed for sizzling leads, controllable feedback, amazing note articulation and string clarity. They can go from a bright nasally Strat-like sound to a warm, fuller sound with a twist of the tone knob. It’s pure magic and a sound all its own.

The decorative steel plate mounted to the top of the headstock not only looks cool, but eliminates the need for string ferrules since the holes keep the tuner shafts in perfect alignment. The staggered height Gotoh tuners eliminate the need for string trees and put even string tension over the nut and hold prefect tune and pitch.

Our innovated bridge design lets the strings come through the body via an opening in the steel. The saddle screws are mounted to the bent steel lip and straddle the opening. The ferrule plate on the back of the guitar helps to  evenly distributes the string vibrations through the body for better resonance.

The guitars are extremely well balanced and weigh only between 6-8lbs. on average.


This guitar comes with a deluxe embossed black tolex hardshell case with orange interior, a signed and numbered Dax&Co. COA, and some cool case candy (strap and cord colors may vary from photo)
