Alternate Dimension Peavey T-40 or T-45 bass humbucker
Neck — 6k - alnico V bars
or
Bridge — 9.5k - alnico V bars
Maybe you bought a Peavey T-40 or T-45 that needs work, missing or dead pickups… or maybe you bought a Peavey T-40 or T-45 and realized that the pickups really don’t sound as good as everyone said, or don’t really sound good at all. The original Peavey T-40 bass humbuckers used upright bar magnets inside the coils then later switched to using steel blades with ceramic magnets underneath. My Alternate Dimension T-40 bass humbuckers are based on the original design (the better one with upright bar magnets). The difference (aside from these being handwound) is that these have much bigger bobbins for larger coils which means larger aperture (length of vibrating string sensed by the strings) which translates to bigger tone. The upright bar magnets make these pickups far more responsive than the Peavey steel blade versions. Plus a broader frequency response and the response is very dynamic (play light in your right hand for a quiet, mellow tone or really dig in to get a huge tone that invigorates your drummer).
If anyone is interested in a five string version, let me know. I can make it.

These pickups, like most of the Stonewall Pickups Alternate Dimension line, are made the same size as traditional pickup covers for a fuller tone and won’t fit in traditional pickup covers. Instead, I’m making tops out of pickguard material. I have white, parchment, cream, black, matte black, and tortoiseshell. If you’re looking for something different, let me know and I can order the material. The coils of copper wire are wrapped in string for protection. The options for string are: white, off-white, and black. But I might be able to get a different color if you need it.
All Stonewall Pickups are hand-wound (scatter-wound). When a coil is machine-wound, each turn of the wire lies directly next to the previous turn. This creates a muddy tone. If you've never owned hand-wound pickups, you are in for a treat: the clarity of tone and frequency response really comes through. Very open sounding with great string-to-string definition. Stonewall Pickups also have unmatched dynamics.
All Stonewall Pickups are vacuum wax potted to prevent microphonics. If you would prefer your pickups to not be potted (noisy but my favorite for recording), be sure to mention it when we email you regarding your pickup options.
All pickups are made to order and we have received a huge number of orders recently. Please allow 2-3 weeks from the time of order for us to craft and ship your pickups. Once your order is placed, we will send you a confirmation email to verify the specs and options and ensure you are getting exactly what you want.
