This an awesome preamp, great for any source, and awesome for acoustic instruments, drums, and electric guitar. It's also amazing on the 2-bus using the 'line' switch to give your mixes some extra depth and analog goodness. With a whopping 3 transformers and 2 discrete opamps, so you're getting a ton of analog mojo in a really small, affordable package. On top of that, you get the switchable high pass filters, which make this even better for both tracking and 2-buss duties. AND you get that lovely little LED signal indicator which is so useful when you're trying to track down issues in your signal chain.
Note, this includes the Litz wire output transformers, which is an upgrade over the stock model, and tends to have a more uniform frequency response and an overall bigger and deeper sound than the stock transformers.
As for opamps, by default we include the Gar2520 and Gar1731 -- this seems to be the preferred configuration for most people, but we can also provide dual 2520s or 1731s if you would prefer. We also offer the CA-0252 or Rogue 5 at no additional cost. The Red Dot and Rogue 6 and others are also available for a small upcharge. Send us a message if you'd like more info on opamp options.
