NG Guitars is proud to bring you a ultra rare piece of history.
Here’s the true story.....Jeff Beck had asked Fender to make him a Strat painted in the same yellow color as the American Graffiti Ford coupe that he owns. Fender execs couldn’t wait to talk to Jeff into having a Signature Stratocaster model. Fender has always put Artist with new guitars to promote there concepts and the newly designed Strat Plus and Jeff Beck were the perfect marriage. So the first Strat Plus prototypes with first ever Lace Sensor pickups were painted bright yellow and named Graffiti Yellow remembering what Jeff Beck had asked for. Unfortunately Jeff Beck turned down Fender's offer. So there was never a Jeff Beck model or prototype ever made......until 1991.

In 1991, Fender introduced the Jeff Beck Signature Artist Stratocaster. The Strat featured an alder body finished in polyurethane, deep 50’s U-shaped maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium-jumbo frets, Wilkinson roller nut which was changed to a LSR rolling nut due to problems during manufacturing, three-ply white pickguard, Lace Sensor “Gold" pickups in a humbucking/single-coil/single-coil with single coils in the neck and middle positions and a humbucking “Dually“ pickup in the bridge, a "TBX" tone circuit affecting the middle and bridge pickups and a mini push-push button for coil-splitting bridge Humbucker. The early 1990s Jeff Beck Stratocasters were finished in Surf Green, Vintage White, and Midnight Purple. Never was one ever made in Graffiti Yellow except for the one you see now.

With all the stories and mystique behind Jeff Beck’s so called Graffiti Yellow prototypes, I decided to put an end to all the rumors. In 1995, the first ever JEFF BECK PROTOTYPE in GRAFFITI YELLOW was born. This guitar features every thing that the early Jeff Beck models were made with except it has NO SERIAL #. It is stamped BECK PROTO in the neck cavity (see pic). And to add that special touch, the headstock was painted to match.

Why am I asking so much for this guitar? Look at all the guitars you see for sale. Unless there vintage, look at the prices of guitars labeled to only so many made, limited edition (but still massed produced), tribute guitars (which most aren’t even seen by the one there giving a tribute too), and the killer one, gimmick guitars. Own something that no one else can own. Own a cool guitar with a cooler story behind it. A true one of a kind. This guitar is dead mint,it still has plastic on the pickguard, pickups, back tremolo cover and will come in a Fender Tweed Case just like all the signature guitars come with.
