A used MPC 1000. This unit is in great shape. Cosmetically, there is some signs of wear/usage on the casing and buttons but switches, pads and everything else are functional.
Unit has been upgraded with a max 128 MB of system RAM. I've also had the unit updated with the pad upgrade (replacing the original MPC 1000 pad sensors - which were prone to failure). This also includes new, blue pads (note, these pads are not the extra-thick pads you see on some upgraded units - they are standard size).
Included with this unit is the original pad assembly. It was in working condition when the unit was upgraded but current status is unknown.
Additionally, this comes equipped with JJOS 3.16 and an 80GB hard disk - so you have plenty of disk space to sample with.
Screen is in great shape as well.
This unit has also been customized with custom painted end pieces, QLink sliders and knobs for a blue-on-blue-on-blue look.
Only issue with the unit is that it is sometimes difficult to eject compact flash cards from the unit.
Developed by Akai in tandem with the well-known electronic engineer Roger Linn, the MPC (Music Production Center) is in essence a powerful drum machine with an interactive interface of signature rubber squares. The units are also marked by the incorporation of extensive sampling abilities and MIDI sequencing, which became more powerful in newer models. The MPCs are some of the most popular production tools for old-school and modern hip-hop and rap.
The MPC1000 were built with the corrected rubber pads issued as a fix for the previous model.
