This 2005 Fender Master Builder Select 1962 Stratocaster Relic Sonic Blue is in excellent + condition. It includes the original hardshell case an CoA.
1962 was a benchmark year for the Stratocaster; now celebrated with a 100-piece globally limited run of the beautiful 1962 Stratocaster Relic, Master-built by the renowned Fender Custom Shop MasterBuilder John Cruz, whose name always carries a premium over most other builders.
John Cruz came to Fender in 1987, joined the Custom Shop in 1993 and became a Master Builder in 2003. Custom guitars are his passion, and he is the man who made guitar "relicing" and art and is behind many famous Custom Shop instruments, including the replica of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s famous “Number One” Stratocaster® guitar, the famed 1954 Masterbuilt Stratocaster® 50th Anniversary, 1956 John Cruz Masterbuilt Stratocaster®, and the highly sought after 1961 John Cruz Masterbuilt Stratocaster Gary Moore edition and many others.
John's guitars are built using original tooling and details and are heavily relic-ed to show years of natural wear and tear—nicks, scratches, worn finish, rusty hardware and aged plastic parts. The select alder body has a nitrocellulose lacquer finish and three-ply aged mint-green pickguard. The early '60s C-shaped maple neck has a 9.5"-radius, round laminated rosewood fingerboard with 21 medium-jumbo frets and a bone nut.
The electronics feature three limited edition John Cruz Master-built single-coil Strat pickups with S-1 switching. Other features include white dot position inlays with wide spacing, nickel/chrome hardware, Fender/Gotoh vintage-style tuning machines and an American Vintage synchronized tremolo.

DESCRIPTION
I present a 2005 Limited Edition John Cruz Masterbuilt 1962 Stratocaster, in a faded sonic blue relic finish.John Cruz was the most requested Masterbuilder in the Fender Custom Shop for many years, but as of 2020 no longer works for Fender. John Cruz was the master of relicing and this is an opportunity to own one of his Masterbuilt creations. This is a highly sought–after model and truly a unique guitar, that plays and sounds fantastic. This Strat is 1 of 100 of a limited run built by John Cruz. All original pickups, electronics/wiring are untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints. Entire instrument is 100% original and correct. For the collector's out there I happily include the original hardshell case, case candy and COA. Here is your chance to own and play what is one of those "unique, creamy, crunchy, bell-chiming vintage Strat's" you spend your entire career looking for on a fraction of the budget and it comes individually built by a MasterBuilder who specializes in this make, model, year and particularly in making it play and sound just like a 1962 unique sounding Strat. John modeled the entire limited run from this design, and it's accompanied by the awesome flexibility of the S1 switching system. The S1 unlocks an entirely new dimension of what is already an incredible sounding instrument.

This is a 1 out of 100 limited run by a master builder who will no longer be building anything for Fender. John Cruz was a master luthier, builder and artisan and pioneer of the relic process and his instruments are disappearing quickly as they've become rare collectibles as well as the best players on the market today.
