Selmer ToneX Y-33 Trumpet Mouthpiece Mint New Old Stock Unused Condition 1940s

Up for grabs is a Selmer ToneX Mouthpiece, slightly rounded semi-cushioned rim new old stock Trumpet mouthpiece model ToneX Y-33, which by all accounts was an experimental in very limited production. This mouthpiece is truly considered one of the most sought after "Holy Grails" of the Trumpet world.

Found in a Local New Jersey estate original store stock . The family had a music store in Newark New Jersey in the early 1900"s into the 60s and when the store closed 50+ years ago the remaining stock including this mouthpiece was stored and forgotten.
 
Some web info: Historically the Selmer Trumpet & Mouthpiece lines started their road to glory when Henri Selmer started his business in 1885 and called it the Selmer Paris Co. Originally the company manufactured mostly woodwind instruments, but began a migration into Trumpets in the early 1930's. In 1933 the new logo of "Henry Selmer Paris" was previewed on its new Trumpet line designed for Louis Armstrong, called the "Balanced" model. Later, this Trumpet was also adopted and used by trumpet legend Harry James.  
Toward 1951 Henri Selmer began concentrating on mouthpieces to support the now legendary line of Trumpets they were producing. The first prominent Trumpet mouthpiece was labeled the "Soloist" line, followed by other limited adaptations including the 3K series which accompanied the Selmer "K-Modified" Trumpets of 1954. Along the way other limited or experimental mouthpieces were introduced by Selmer...they rarely surface in the marketplace as collectors hold onto them. These Henry Selmer Paris Mouthpieces are some of the absolute best mouthpieces ever made...by anyone.
