Here is a Brothers Music Shop conversion that is just completed. This 1967 Martin D-28 has a beautiful Adirondack red spruce top, forward-shifted hand-carved scalloped pre-war spec bracing, all hide glue construction, a neck with 1 11/16” width at nut and a two way adjustable truss rod. This beauty also has a super-thin 100% nitrocellulose full gloss lacquer finish on the body. The sunburst is modeled after a 1930’s Martin Guitar sunburst. The action and playability are absolutely perfect and, the most awesome thing about this guitar is the sound of this amazing guitar. This is a real deal 1967 Martin D-28 that had a completely ruined top on it and, we converted this Brazilian Rosewood D-28 body into a pre-war specification Martin D-28. Not only does it look absolutely amazing and flawless, we are actually building our conversions to sound like the 1930’s Martin Brazilian D-28’s. The punch and depth of lows on this beauty will absolutely blow your mind – it is really as if you had a 1930s Martin D-28 in your lap but, with all the modern conveniences and playability of a brand new guitar. Whether played soft or pushed very hard, this D-28 delivers and, it is most definitely a “banjo killer.” This guitar comes with a brand new high-end Martin hardshell case. With the way that this guitar looks and plays and sounds, you would certainly be the envy of everyone who desires to own a real deal golden era Martin guitar but can’t afford the price tag for a 1930’s D-28.
