Extremely unique vintage drum kit in excellent condition. These shells span 50 years from the 1890’s-1950’s. Can be played as a historic Duplex Bass & Snare Combo or combined into a four piece.

.)  1800’s Bass is 9” x 26” At the center of the kit is this museum quality historic Duplex, single tension bass drum from the late 1800’s. A glimpse of the drum‘s history is recorded inside the shell. This bass was played by Bert “Doc” Hall at the Victory Hotel - Perry’s Casino in 1903. The Victory Hotel at Put-In-Bay, OH was once the largest resort hotel in the world until it burned down in 1919. This bass was also played in The Pontiac, MI Opera House in 1899. Still two calfskin heads in playable condition per that era. Can, however, accept modern drum heads and muffling as desired. That’s a big plus, as these antique shells are often odd half sizes. Weighs less than 10 lbs. and plays like the real deal that it is. Has undergone a lite cosmetic cleanup to include a lite sanding & refreshed stain. Also fresh black stain on the hoops. Hardware remains as found … all matching and working like new. A rare vintage bass with some impressive known history. Others would likely list this bass at $800 - $1200 by itself. I am mostly seeking a responsible owner.

.) 1930’s Duplex 6” x 14” Solid Shell, Snare with reinforcement rings. New, throw off installed as the original was missing. There were extra holes from an apparent strainer change somewhere along the way. Holes sealed and a copper flashing installed to keep things tidy under the excellent new strainer. New heads. This is an Excellent Snare Drum with Mojo! Tunes up nicely and performs on par with significantly more expensive snares of nowadays. Plays crisp or punchy. Easy to control sustain. I’m probably not thinking clearly to sell it, but I’m not getting any younger.

.) 1930’s Duplex 9” x 13” Rack Tom is built like a tank. Solid Shell with large reinforcement rings. Matches the Slingerland Radio King Shells of the same era. Has triple flange hoops instead of stick choppers. Has original Duplex Lugs, an internal muffler, new heads, and new tension rods.

.) 1950’s Slingerland Radio King 12” x 15” marching snare converted to floor tom. The pictures tell the story. Has the early 50’s Slingerland badge, internal muffler, one engraved Radio King hoop and 8, dual end, beaver tail lugs. Had this in the shop and since finding Duplex toms is almost impossible, I just blended this, close cousin, excellent drum shell in. Duplex and Slingerland share some history of the same shell builders. So the difference is the hardware.
