Overview: I've owned a couple Flatiron bouzoukis in the past and enjoyed them while I had them. Their scale length and suggested stringing really makes them more like slightly longer-scale octave mandolins and I think that's where they work best -- as a melody/counterpoint instrument in group situations or chords-plus-runs instruments for singing with.

They have an aggressive, punchy, very direct sound that is very much in the octave mandolin spectrum as compared to a "traditional" Irish bouzouki-style instrument with their very-long scale, thin strings and octave-strung setup, and strummy dispositions.

This one plays like a champ, sounds killer, and looks gorgeous as well with its extra purfling/binding trim and flamed koa back and sides. It was obviously loved, too, with a bit of wear showing at the fretboard extension edges and at the soundhole.

Repairs included: Jake Too gave it a level/dress of the frets, cleaned it up, adjusted the bridge, and set it up. It's playing spot-on and is ready to serve.

Condition notes: It has a couple repaired hairline cracks on the top near the bridge. There are small scuffs, nicks, and dings here and there throughout the finish. Overall it looks nice, though. The tuners are not the best but they do work fine.

It comes with: It has a good, hard case as I recall.
