1960s Gretsch Round Badge Progressive Jazz Outfit — Black Nitron — 20/12/14 with matching 5x14 snare

8x12 rack tom, 14x14 floor tom, 14x20 bass drum, 5x14 snare drum. Round badges on the rack tom, floor tom and bass drum. 6-ply shells, silver sealer interiors. Factory Black Nitron finish. The floor tom still has its paper tag; the other drums do not.

If you want everything that comes with a round badge Gretsch kit — the shells, the sound, the way they tune — without paying the collector premium, this is a good option. This kit has been gone through, functions well, and sounds and tunes just like you’d expect a Gretsch to. Consolette tom mount, diamond-plate floor tom brackets, and the original spurs are all present. This is the same shell and outfit that Tony Williams, Elvin Jones and Art Blakey were playing in this era.

Player’s grade. Here’s what’s not original or not perfect, priced accordingly:

• Snare throw-off is a replacement (a Gretsch part, not period-correct). Works as it should.
• Snare drum key is a replacement.
• Snare badge is missing.
• Bass drum hoop inlay is new.
• Some seam lift on the bass drum wrap. It’s stable and shown in the photos.

$1,950 plus $350 shipping in the lower 48. Local pickup preferred in Maplewood, Minnesota — come play it first.
