Since its founding in 1916, Kamaka has remained a leading Hawaiian ukulele brand. It is a highly trusted, long-established brand used by countless professional and amateur musicians, including Jake Shimabukuro. This instrument is the "HF3 D2I," a deluxe tenor model with a slotted headstock, which can be said to be the highest-grade model in Kamaka's extensive lineup. It is a used item from 2015. The HF-3 designation indicates Kamaka's tenor size, D for deluxe model, 2 for second-generation model or second edition, and I for the Hawaiian word "'Ipuka." The Hawaiian word "'Ipuka" means a passage for light or wind, and the model number indicates the slotted headstock specification with a hole in the headstock. The entire body is made of high-grade Hawaiian koa wood with a beautiful grain. This ukulele features a mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, wood binding, an abalone shell KK mark on the headstock, and a beautiful, deep-colored abalone purfling and rosette on the body top, exuding an unparalleled sense of luxury. The slotted headstock provides a firm tension and a slightly wider frequency range. The rich, sweet sound is enhanced with definition, and its responsiveness is palpable. The stable sound responds well to both aggressive strumming and active playing. There are only minor scratches visible under light, and slight paint lifting around the nut, but overall it remains in very clean condition. The neck is in excellent condition, making it a highly playable ukulele. Its sweet and resonant tone sets it apart from regular tenor ukuleles, and both its looks and sound make it a model worthy of being called Kamaka's finest. Please experience it for yourself. Original hard case included.
