Up for sale we have a 1965 Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve tube amplifier head (the pots all date to the 40ish week of 1964). I received this amp as a non-working, 100% original amp. I replaced the power tubes with EH 6L6's (biased cool at around 51% plate dissipation for long life), a NOS MIJ 12AX7 in V1 and V2, Silvertone 6CG7 in V3, V4 & V6 are new JJ ECC83S, and V5 is a NOS Rad-Tel 6CG7. I then replaced all of the electrolytic capacitors with quality new parts as one of the originals was shorted. The original cap can has been bypassed but is still in place. I then properly added a 3-prong power cable, with the hot lead going through the fuse, for maximum safety and protection. There is a fresh 2 amp slow-blow fuse installed as well. As you can see, this amp took a hit somewhere in its life, and the back of the chassis is dented in a bit. I straightened it out as much as possible, but the panel is somewhat wavy back there.

It also has a small dent in the front panel (pictured), and some normal corrosion on the front plate. All knobs are present, and the tolex/fabric covering cleaned up surprisingly well. Both channels, and all functions work, INCLUDING the infamous reverb. They never work right on this model of amp, but this one actually works and is usable! Tremolo works flawlessly. The original hard-wired speaker cable is included, and I added a normal 1/4" male jack to the end. All of the original parts I changed out are included. The original speaker cabinet is long gone, so just the amp head itself is included. All sales are final, and shipping will be immediate as soon as payment clears.
