Super rare and super hard to find. Here we have the 60/70s kustom k 200B 4. The condition is amazing with no tears or rips to the spongy tuck and roll tolex. But sadly has some internal problems. First off when you turn it on , it sounds like when you put a seashell up to your ear to hear the ”ocean” in the best way I can describe it. The left side channel works the only thing I noticed was the bright knob goes quieter when turned on. The right side is the side with issues. First off, it’s super quiet even when all the volumes are pushed. The selective boost makes a popping sound every time you switch through the 6 clicks. Missing the reverb knob. The reverb and tremolo work on the left channel. Sadly missing the footswitch and does Not come with a speaker cable. The head comes with an old leather cover. Any questions feel free to ask.

Top-Tier Model: The "-4" designation indicates it is the fully-loaded top-tier version of the K200 series (featuring four primary onboard effects/features compared to simpler models like the "-2").

  • Channels & Inputs: It features two distinct channels ("Bright" and "Normal"), each with high and low gain inputs, volume, bass, treble, and a bright switch.
  • Onboard Effects:
    • The Bright Channel includes a large tank reverb and tremolo (with speed and intensity controls).
    • The Normal Channel includes a "selective boost" / "boost volume" (overdrive) and a "harmonic clipper" (fuzz tone).
  • Power & Impedance: Designed as a solid-state amplifier, it is built to run at an optimal 4-ohm load to deliver its full power output (historically rated around 100W to 200W depending on the specific measurement and circuit revision).
  • Speaker Pairing: Originally paired with matching "sparkle" or solid-color tuck-and-roll speaker cabinets (such as multi-speaker Jensen or CTS setups).

Maintenance

  • Circuit Variations: Kustom went through many minor circuit revisions during this era, meaning two "K200-4" units can have internal differences even if the external features look identical.
  • Common Issues: Because these units are vintage solid-state gear from the late '60s, original electrolytic filter capacitors and output transistors are prone to aging, humming, or needing a full recap/service by a technician.
