We all know these preamps pack a good price to performance ratio, but lack a lot of the audio Mojo compared to an original 1073.

This is where we come in with over 20 years of audio circuit experience pushing this design to the top of its game with engineering techniques only found at Revive Audio!

This is a good design that has been replicated many times over, but just never seems to get there with every new companies incarnation. 

Most of this is due to the quality of components and the rest is due to the lack of experience in the audio lab where musicians do their work. 

They toss in the idea of handwiring, which these clearly are not, except that humans plug in the steel headers the machines assembled, but use better parts than other versions we have seen. 

Stock they sound pretty good but dirty to the point where the Audio sounds subdued by the noise and a bit midrangy and harsh where it counts. 

We perform an number of modifications on these in order to obtain the results we demand in order to meet our Price-to-Performance ratio, which is:

 Better bandwidth, higher headroom, lower distortion and a less harsh pushed sound. 

Fidelity is also increased by a considerable amount. 

The character smoothes out a lot after the modifications and the noise floor is lowered to a point where the audio is just right and a lot closer to the original Neve Design!

About the Modifications:

What we do to these little boxes is essentially gut the insides. 

We pull all of the transistors out and replace them with Gain matched, high HFE transistors for better bandwidth and lower noise to more closely resemble the original Neve design. 

We then pull all of the capacitors out the unit and replace them with long life, audio grade Panasonic capacitors for even lower noise and better musicality. 

Values are adjusted in the entire design for optimal audio performance. 

Finally we perform a power supply modifications for longer life, better current delivery and lower noise.
