The Gibson Custom Les Paul Standard in Translucent Amber offers a contemporary interpretation of the classic Les Paul design, combining traditional Gibson Custom craftsmanship with features suited to modern players. Built with a lightly figured AA maple top, nine-hole weight-relieved mahogany body, and comfortable Medium C neck profile, this guitar retains the familiar construction and character of a Les Paul Standard. Its Translucent Amber gloss nitrocellulose finish highlights the maple figuring, while white binding and appointments give the instrument a distinctive appearance.

The solid mahogany body features traditional nine-hole weight relief to reduce overall mass without departing from the familiar Les Paul construction. A carved AA figured maple top provides the visual centerpiece, with single-ply white binding outlining the body. The combination of mahogany and maple delivers the characteristic Les Paul balance of midrange presence, clarity, and sustain. The full-gloss Translucent Amber finish allows the natural figuring of the maple to remain visible.

The mahogany neck features a Medium C profile designed to sit comfortably between slim and substantial neck shapes. A long neck tenon joins the neck to the body, while the one-piece rosewood fingerboard features a 12" radius, 22 frets, white binding, and celluloid trapezoid inlays. A nylon nut and Kluson single-line, single-ring tuning machines provide vintage-inspired functionality, complemented by the guitar's traditional 24.75" scale length.

Electronics consist of a Gibson Burstbucker 2 humbucker in the neck position and a slightly hotter Burstbucker 3 in the bridge. Hand-wired electronics feature independent volume and tone controls for each pickup, audio-taper CTS potentiometers, and a Switchcraft three-way toggle selector. Gold Top Hat knobs with dial pointers maintain the traditional Les Paul control layout. A nickel no-wire ABR-1 bridge and lightweight stopbar tailpiece complete the hardware, and a Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case is included.
