1990 Ibanez PGM200-FB signed by Paul Gilbert
Believed to be one of 200 made.
The PGM200 is a PGM series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1990. It is a signature model of American guitarist Paul Gilbert. It is the second PGM model following the PGM100 which was introduced the previous year.
One distinctive feature of this model is the triple humbucking pickup configuration. Other features include a basswood body, a Wizard neck, a standard hard-tail bridge and Paul Gilbert's signature painted F-holes. The PGM200 was available only in Japan.
The "Fountain Blue" color, as seen on Paul's original guitar of that era, turned out to be closer to green in production. From what I've read, I understand Paul was dissatisfied and asked them to halt production, meaning only a small number of these guitars exist.
This guitar was signed by Paul Gilbert when it was new. The signature has faded but is still visible.
The guitar has numerous scratches on the body and back of the neck. There are a couple of small chips in the finish. There are hairline paint cracks near the neck pocket, a common occurrence in these guitars.
Despite the finish wear, the guitar has very little fret wear with only a small divot noticeable on the first fret wire. The guitar plays fast and easy with the low action that these guitars are famous for. The neck is a Wizard neck profile.
Comes with a brand new Ibanez hardshell case. Free shipping in USA.
