This kit is in great shape, comes with everything and has the blood, sweat & tears of playing hundred of gigs during the 90s. Giving it the soul & sound of only a Recording Custom that has been on stage & in the studio.

Serial Numbers start with MZ = manufactured in December 1986.

I have been the only owner of these drums, they are my first and only kit.

Now that I am older, it is time for them to find a new home.

1986 Yamaha Stage Series

The TT-500 series line corresponds to the Yamaha Stage 5000 Series acoustic drums manufactured in Japan during the 1980s. 

Product Description & Features

• Shell Composition: The Stage 5000 series utilized a hybrid construction blending birch and mahogany plies. This combination gave the drums a warm, punchy tone with prominent lows and a balanced attack—
• Model Identification: In a typical shell pack from this line, individual rack toms carry model numbers reflecting their size. For example, a 12-inch tom is labeled TT-512 and a 13-inch tom is labeled TT-513. The "5" signifies the 5000 (Stage) tier. 
• Finishes: The line featured premium wrapped finishes typical of the 1980s era, such as Metallic Olive Green, Raven Black, and Burgundy.
• Hardware: The drums originally featured low-mass standard lugs and direct-to-shell tom brackets. They were designed to attach to Yamaha's standard hexagonal tom holders and floor stands.
