In my opinion, this is one of the best Peavey tube amps ever made. The Valveking 100 has a beautiful clean channel reminiscent of a Fender Twin, and in its overdrive circuit it’s got all the gain you could ever want. I’ve played it for many years and it’s been a loud, reliable partner through it all. That being said, it’s time for me to move on to something else.

This amp has been well loved and cared for over the years. Both speakers have been replaced with MojoTone Greyhounds that provide a nice blend of smoothness and brightness without being harsh. This amp was also re-tubed last year with a matched quad of JJ 6L6 tubes in the power section. In the preamp section, V1 was replaced with a JJ 5751, which is in between an ECC81 and an ECC83S in gain, along with two ECC83S’s in V2 and V3. This was done to maximize clean headroom as I mainly used this amp as a loud, clean pedal platform.

I have also added casters on the bottom to make moving this amp easier. This amp comes with an aftermarket foot switch as well to change channels on the fly and to activate the built-in boost.
