Common Questions About the Buffet Crampon 400 Series

How does the 400 Series fit within Buffet Crampon's saxophone lineup?

Buffet Crampon catalogs the 400 Series as a professional saxophone. The SENZO occupies a more premium position in the company's alto saxophone range, while the 400 Series provides a more accessible route into Buffet Crampon's professional lineup.

What should an advanced player evaluate when trying this alto saxophone?

Players should evaluate response through the full register, intonation tendencies, keywork ergonomics, articulation, dynamic stability, and how the instrument's tonal core works with their preferred mouthpiece and reed setup.

How do the lacquer and engraving affect the instrument?

Gold lacquer provides a traditional applied finish, while the extensive floral engraving is decorative and does not define the instrument's playing level. Tonal fit and response should be evaluated with the player's usual mouthpiece, reed, and performance approach.
