Macbeth Elements Analog Synthesizer –– Extremely Rare

This is a Macbeth Elements, hand-built by Ken Macbeth. They were made in very small numbers and almost never come up for sale. I haven't seen another listed anywhere, which is why I'm listing it here.

I bought it directly from Ken. The unit is in the same condition it was in when I received it. Re: touch panel keyboard - Ken told me before I bought it that every Elements ships with his fingerprints on the keyboard, and that there may be small imperfections on the keys and casing. That's true of every unit he sends out, and I'm passing it on so you know what to expect. More than happy to forward that email to the buyer for their records, and I tried my best to show everything in photos (though fingerprints seem to show up more pronounced in photos than in person).

As for the synth: it's a monophonic analog with three audio oscillators, a fourth oscillator/LFO for modulation, and a diode ladder filter with a thick, slightly acidic character that stays full even with the resonance up. It has a built-in 4-octave touch keyboard, spring reverb, and cross-modulation for the weirder sounds. Both MIDI and CV/gate exist on this original version.

The controls are what stand out. Everything is big and well spaced, with multi-turn vernier dials for tuning, so it feels more like a piece of studio gear than a small modern synth. Ken built it with vintage-style circuitry and matched components, and you can hear the care in it. It sounds like a very good instrument.
