Morgan Amplification DAG15 2010s - Carolina Blue

Pristine condition Morgan DAG15 from the handmade, hardwired days of the company. Has a 12” celestion blue speaker and sounds incredible. No issues. Purchased used from Chicago Music Exchange 3 years ago.

The Morgan Amplification DAG15 is a fairly rare, hand-wired 15-watt EL84 amp that Morgan originally built as an exclusive model for Destroy All Guitars (DAG). Morgan described it as deliberately sitting between the 10-watt Abbey and the 20-watt AC20: more output and headroom than the Abbey, but less clean headroom than the AC20. Production was limited to roughly 20 units per month.

What it is

At its core, the DAG15 is Morgan’s take on the classic Vox/AC15 Top Boost family of sounds, rather than simply a lower-powered AC20. Contemporary listings describe it as essentially a boutique, hand-wired American interpretation of that circuit. Tone Junkie, which profiled an actual DAG15, calls it the “quintessential AC15 Top Boost sound” and describes the clean sound as having chime and snap, becoming increasingly chewy and compressed as it’s driven.
