Shure 546 Microphone Unidyne III 1965 Sm56 Chrome 545 Dual Z

Have for sale my NOS Shure 546 microphone. This mic sounds even better than it looks. Comes shipped with full insurance, original pouch and new vintage correct locking windscreen

Recently serviced, CLEAN inside and out. All original including beefy internal transformer with variable impedence selector.

Circa 1965

This is when American manufacturing and Shure was at the top of its game. This microphone is built like a tank, no pitting in the chrome, museum quality mic. All the utlities of this mic are in perfect condition, the mic stand threads, the xlr connector, the impedance switch etc.

The 546 is one of the rarest shure microphones because nobody wants to part with theirs.

This is the chrome predecessor to the Sm56. Found on countless recordings and stages back in the day such as Monterey Pop, Woodstock. Used by many vocalists live and in studio such as Wilson Pickett, Van Morrison, James Brown, Otis Redding, Frank Sinatra, Brian Wilson, Jim Morrison, Mick Jagger, The Beatles, Elvis Presley only to name a few.

With high and low impedance switch on board you can instantly have access to 2 distinct shades from this mic. When in the middle position it acts as a mute switch. Sounds very very nice matched with nearly any preamp.

This microphone is THE king of all SM57, SM56, 545 variants. Crystal clear it can record anything, it will leave your favorite dynamic mics in the dust in my experience. A favorite on Vocals, electric cabs, acoustic guitar, drums, horns. Bass cabs. Whatever source you want to have the mojo this is the ticket in my opinion.

Comes shipped with full insurance, feel free to ask questions and check out my reviews I always aim to please.
