SPL Qure Mastering EQ Model 9738

For sale is an SPL Qure Mastering EQ, Model 9738, in good technical condition.

One of the rack ears appears to have been slightly bent and has some cosmetic damage from a previous owner. This is only visible when the unit is removed from the rack and there is no screw covering the affected area.

The unit was serviced and tested in June 2025 and is technically in very good condition. It is fitted with JJ tubes, which in my opinion are the best choice for this particular unit. They give the Qure a very musical and open sound.

This unit does not have the optional output transformers installed. In my opinion, this is not a disadvantage with the Qure. I consider the sonic difference introduced by the transformers to be very marginal on this particular unit and not really relevant to what makes the Qure special. The transformers are extremely transparent and do not really add a particular "sound" of their own.

Without the transformer option, the Qure still does exactly what it should: it can be clean and transparent when required, while becoming musical and full of character when pushed and used accordingly.

The Qure is not a conventional EQ. Its unique circuit design can add depth, loudness and dimension to a mix. The combination of EQ, Solid State circuitry, Qure mode, saturation and tube circuitry makes it an interesting tool for both mixing and mastering.

I am selling the SPL Qure because my workflow has changed and I rarely use it anymore.

A visit and testing are welcome by appointment.
The EQ is currently still installed in my rack.
