The Double Trouble is a pretty killer version of the Les Paul Standard ’50s. It keeps the classic recipe intact, but the little details are what make this one stand out.

The big one is obviously the pair of uncovered Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups with the double-white bobbins. That look is about as ’50s Les Paul as it gets, and the Burstbuckers have the kind of warm, thick Gibson humbucker sound you’d expect without getting overly modern.

The Vintage Honey Burst finish is another standout. It’s a hand-sprayed, full-gloss nitro finish with a subtly "aged" and faded look, so it has a little more character than a standard production ’50s Standard. Underneath that, you’re getting the non-relieved mahogany body, AA figured maple top, chunky ’50s Vintage neck, rosewood fingerboard, and the usual Les Paul control layout.

Hardware is kept right in line with the old-school approach, with an ABR-1 bridge, Vintage Deluxe Keystone tuners, and a set neck. At 8lbs 12oz, it’s also a pretty reasonable weight for a non-relieved Les Paul.

Overall, this is a really cool one for someone who likes the ’50s Les Paul look but wants a few of those harder-to-find vintage details, especially the double-white pickups and the Vintage Honey Burst. Comes with the hardshell case.
