For sale is a 1958 Gibson LG-1 in Sunburst finish, offered strictly as a non-functioning restoration project.

This is not a guitar that simply needs a setup, neck reset or minor crack repair. It requires substantial professional structural restoration and is being offered primarily to an experienced luthier, vintage-guitar restorer, or someone who would like to commission a full restoration of a late-1950s Gibson.

The guitar presents very nicely from the front and retains its aged sunburst finish, pickguard, bridge, fingerboard, Gibson headstock and three-on-a-plate tuners. It has lots of genuine vintage wear and patina.

I have deliberately left it in its current state rather than attempting amateur repairs. My hope is that it goes to someone with the experience to restore and preserve it properly.

Despite its condition, much of the guitar is still there, including the attractive original-style sunburst top and the major components, making it an interesting candidate for a serious vintage-Gibson restoration.
