The Yamaha Pacifica series has been around since 1990, and there's a reason it keeps showing up in guitar stores, rehearsal spaces, and on stages around the world: it just delivers. The PAC612VIIFMX is the flamed maple veneer-topped version of the Pacifica 600 lineup, and it packs a serious punch of premium third-party hardware into a guitar that plays and sounds far above its price class.
With a solid alder body dressed in a gloss polyurethane Fired Red finish, a bolt-on maple neck, and a trio of Seymour Duncan pickups, this guitar is ready for pretty much whatever you throw at it — from clean, sparkly single-coil tones to thick, grinding humbucking drive. The HSS configuration with a push-pull coil split means you're getting six usable voices out of one guitar, which is a lot of flexibility to have on any gig or session.
Whether you're recording at home, playing a club, or just putting in serious practice time, the PAC612VIIFMX rewards you with a guitar that feels and sounds like it belongs in a much higher price bracket.
This item is a B-Stock guitar sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is new and has never been previously owned. The photos shown are of the exact instrument you will receive. Before shipment, our licensed technician will inspect and professionally set up the guitar to ensure it is playing its best. During our inspection, we noticed MICRO BLEMISHES ON BACK, SMALL PAINT CHIPS NEAR TRUS ROD COVER, HEEL SCRATCHES, AND PAINT BLEED, DENT NEAR BACK BODY COVER. (see pictures) Please note, these may not be the only cosmetic imperfections. As a B-Stock instrument, there may be additional minor blemishes that are small in nature and do not affect playability or performance.
Seymour Duncan Pickups That Mean BusinessYamaha didn't cut corners on the electronics here. The bridge position carries a Seymour Duncan Custom TB-14 Trembucker humbucker — a high-output pickup that handles big riffs and leads with authority. The neck and middle positions are loaded with Seymour Duncan SSL-1 single-coils, with the middle pickup wound reverse/reverse-polarity (RwRp) for hum-canceling in positions 2 and 4.
A 5-position blade switch gives you the standard single/combination voices, and the master tone knob has a push-pull coil-split function that splits the bridge humbucker into a single-coil, opening up even more tonal territory. Master volume and master tone round out the simple, player-friendly control layout — nothing to second-guess mid-song.
A Neck That Gets Out of Your WayThe PAC612VIIFMX has a bolt-on maple neck with a "C" profile — comfortable enough for long practice sessions, familiar enough that most players will feel right at home from the first chord. A 25.5" scale length keeps string tension in the sweet spot, and the rosewood fretboard sits at a 13-3/4" (350 mm) radius — flatter than a vintage Fender, which makes string bending more comfortable up the neck.
You get 22 medium frets, a 41mm Graph Tech TUSQ nut, and a gloss polyurethane neck finish. The TUSQ nut is a notable upgrade over the plastic nuts you'll find on most guitars in this category — it seats strings cleanly and helps with tuning consistency. Both the neck and the body wear a gloss poly finish throughout.
Hardware Built to Stay in TuneThe Wilkinson VS50 tremolo bridge is a quality vintage-style vibrato unit — it handles moderate dive bombs and vibrato without wreaking havoc on your tuning, especially when paired with the Grover locking tuners. Grover locking tuners are a practical, road-proven upgrade that makes restringing faster and tuning stability genuinely better. String trees are Graph Tech TUSQ as well, keeping the same slippery, low-friction material at every string contact point.
The overall hardware package — Seymour Duncan pickups, Grover locking tuners, Wilkinson bridge, Graph Tech TUSQ nut and string trees — represents a thoughtful selection of upgrades that work together to keep this guitar playing in tune and feeling solid night after night.
