Sony PCM-601ESD Digital Audio Processor, tested and in Very Good condition.

The PCM-601ESD is Sony's late-generation PCM processor. It encodes stereo audio to 14- or 16-bit digital at 44.1 kHz for recording onto a standard VCR (Beta, VHS, or 8mm) and decodes it on playback. The "D" version adds coaxial digital input and output, which makes it one of the most practical ways to recover and transfer original PCM-F1, PCM-501, and PCM-601 format tapes. It can feed a DAT, a modern interface, or a DAW directly over S/PDIF, and it also works as a standalone A/D and D/A converter. Archivists, studios, and anyone with a shelf of early digital masters on videotape look for this unit.

Condition: Very Good. Tested and working. [Add what you verified, e.g. analog in/out, digital in/out, record/playback through a VCR.] Normal light cosmetic wear consistent with age; see photos. Does not include remote.

Display: The fluorescent display is bright, clear, and fully legible, with no burn, dim segments, or fading. One photo shows a reflection across the display window. That's glare from the lighting, not a defect in the display.
