The Jay Ganz Straight Ahead Power Amp is a tiny, 1.5-pound, 500-watt Class D power amplifier built for bass and steel guitar players who use pedalboard preamps. I used with a Mantle DI and/or the Ampeg SGT-DI and sounds incredible with either!
Main Specifications
Power Output: 500 watts at 4 ohms, and 300 watts at 8 ohms.
Size and Weight: Measures roughly 5 inches by 7 inches and weighs only 1.5 pounds.
Design: Class D solid-state circuitry that easily fits inside a standard instrument gig bag.
Tone and Performance
This amplifier acts as a clean boost for your sound without adding warmth or distortion of its own. Musicians pair it with an external preamp pedal to shape their tone before the signal hits the power amp. It delivers high volume and plenty of headroom so your sound stays clear even at high levels.
