Offered here is a vintage Marantz 4270 Stereo 2 + Quadradial 4 AM/FM receiver. The 4270 can operate in two power configurations: approximately 70 watts per channel in 2-channel stereo BTL mode, or approximately 25 watts per channel in 4-channel quadraphonic mode into 8 ohms.

This unit also features the classic Marantz Gyro-Touch tuning wheel, blue illuminated dial, Dolby Noise Reduction, Vari-Matrix circuitry, AM/FM tuner, and phono input.

This unit has been inspected, cleaned, serviced, configured for U.S. operation, and fully tested by HQaudios prior to sale.

A Marantz WC-22 wood case is included with this receiver, adding the classic wood-cabinet presentation associated with vintage Marantz components.

Inspection & Service

We inspected this Marantz 4270 before sale, with attention to the amplifier stages, power supply, front-panel controls and switches, AM/FM tuner, phono section, Dolby functions, Vari-Matrix circuitry, speaker connections, inputs and outputs, meters, illumination, and Gyro-Touch tuning mechanism.

Our technicians cleaned and prepared the receiver according to the condition identified during inspection.

We also configured the unit for proper U.S. mains operation and checked the controls, switches, connections, and major operating functions for reliable use.

5/ Important Power Mode Note

The rear-panel power mode switch must be set to the desired operating mode before the receiver is powered on.

Do not change between 2-channel and 4-channel power modes while the receiver is operating. In 70 W x2 mode, use only the front speaker terminals and speakers rated at 8 ohms or higher.

6/ Cosmetic Condition

This unit presents in clean vintage cosmetic condition with normal age-related wear.
