The Kala UBASS-SP-MAPL-FS is a fretted acoustic-electric U•BASS featuring spalted maple construction with distinctive natural figuring throughout the top, back, and sides. Its compact short-scale design pairs a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and bridge, while black binding complements the darker spalting patterns in the maple. Kala U•BASS Active EQ electronics provide amplified operation, and Aquila Thunderblack strings deliver the low-register response associated with the U•BASS platform. A Venetian cutaway provides upper-fret access, and a deluxe padded gig bag is included.
