First introduced in 1960, the Hummingbird became famous for its square-shoulder silhouette, warm voice, and bold visual identity, finding a home in country, folk, rock, and singer-songwriter music for generations. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, this Hummingbird Special preserves that heritage while introducing a slightly thinner concert-depth body for a comfortable feel and a tighter, more focused low end. Available now at Haggerty's Music in Satin Vintage Cherry Sunburst, it includes a premium soft shell case for protection and transport.

The Hummingbird Special's solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides create a classic acoustic pairing with a balanced personality: spruce contributes clarity, headroom, and dynamic range, while mahogany supplies warmth, woody mids, and a strong fundamental. Traditional scalloped X-bracing allows the top to respond freely, while the shallower concert-depth body tightens the bass response compared with a full-depth Hummingbird Standard. That makes this model especially useful for vocal accompaniment, recording, ensemble playing, and situations where an acoustic needs to occupy its own space without overwhelming the mix. The 24.75" scale and rounded utile neck provide a relaxed playing feel, complemented by a 12" radius rosewood fingerboard and the pearloid parallelogram inlays that immediately connect the Special to the Hummingbird lineage.
