Paragon is a true convolution reverb you can actually adjust. Convolution has always given the most believable spaces, because it is built from recordings of real rooms, and it has always been the least flexible, because changing an impulse response usually means stretching it or throwing samples away and hearing the damage. Paragon removes that trade-off.

It does it by analysing and re-synthesising the impulse response rather than editing the sample. Decay, room size and brightness become controls you can move, and the result stays an authentic space instead of becoming a time-stretched artefact of one. The technique came out of three years of development with Dr Jez Wells at the University of York.

It runs in up to 7.1.4 channels, which makes it usable on Dolby Atmos bed tracks and on surround work generally, and the impulse responses themselves are modelled from 3D recordings of real spaces rather than upmixed from stereo captures.

The per channel control is what post production people tend to reach for. Crosstalk is individually configurable per channel, and there is a high pass and low pass filter on each one, so the reverb can be shaped differently in the surrounds than it is at the front rather than applied as one undifferentiated wash.

Format: This is a brand new, unregistered activation card with printed instructions. Redeem the code with the manufacturer, download the software, and the licence is yours to keep.

Please note: This is full Paragon, the surround and immersive version. Paragon ST is a different and cheaper product: same engine, minus all surround and immersive capability, and intended for stereo music production. We stock that version too, so if you only work in stereo, buy the ST and keep the difference. Anything offered near $299 is the ST, not this.

Key Features

  • True convolution reverb - built from recordings of real spaces, not an algorithmic approximation of them
  • Re-synthesis of authentic IRs - decay, room size and brightness are adjustable without time stretching the impulse response or removing samples from it, using technology developed with Dr Jez Wells at the University of York
  • Dolby Atmos and surround compatible - operates in up to 7.1.4 channels, suitable for immersive work and Atmos bed tracks
  • Individually configurable crosstalk per channel - decide how much each channel bleeds into the others rather than accepting one fixed spatial behaviour
  • HPF and LPF per channel - shape the reverb differently in the surrounds than at the front, on a per channel basis
  • Spectral analysis - see the frequency content of the impulse response itself while you edit it
  • Switchable LFE - LFE handling turns on and off as the delivery format requires
  • Compact mode - a reduced interface for when screen space matters more than full control
  • Perpetual Licence - bought once and yours to keep, not a subscription. The version you activate keeps working whether or not you ever renew anything

System Requirements

  • Plug-in formats - AAX including AudioSuite, AU and VST3, 64-bit only
  • macOS - OS X 10.9 or later
  • Windows - Windows 7 or later
  • Memory - 512 MB RAM minimum
  • Activation - a free NUGEN Audio account is required to redeem the code and license the software
