The "Bruiser" suitcase kick drum made by Side Show Drums.

Side Show Drums uses vintage suitcases and a combination of new and used drum hardware to build one of a kind, custom suitcase drums. Each item they build is a combination of suitcase, parts, and pieces brought together to make a truly unique instrument for you to enjoy. This is built around a vintage hard sided suitcase which measures approximately 21" wide, 18" tall and 8 1/2" deep.

A repurposed 14", 6 lug floor tom shell has been cut into the batter side of the suitcase.

Holes in the shell have been filled and redrilled as needed to fit the suitcase.

The interior has been re-lined to help protect whatever additional hardware you store inside.

The exterior of the suitcase shows signs of wear and tear from a life of use and travel.

The top of the case bears the monogram "B.A.M".

The bass pedal mount has been attached permanently to the bottom of the case and features a rubber top to help secure your pedal.

The latches on the case still function properly but there is no key.

Two bass drum spurs have been added to the sides of the suitcase, making it nice and stable.

A 3" rubber port has been added to give you the option of using a microphone for more volume or studio recording.

We have tried several types of beaters with this, and it tends to sound better with a softer beater, but the possibilities are endless.
