The Silvertone 1482 has a big-fat mid range, producing sweet vintage tones or dishing out gnarly, raunchy blues and rock and roll.

With three inputs — 2 Instrument & 1 Microphone — the amp mates easily with humbuckers or single-coils, delivering a rich, musical character with lots of harmonic complexity. The amp responds dynamically to picking attack and changes in guitar volume, so you can roll straight into overdrive when you turn up and/or pick harder.

This amp truly shines when you plug into the instrument input, and then use a jumper to also plug into the microphone input. With the added gain, you get great overdrive breakup at not too loud volume. This is the magic of this amp.

Loop a reverb pedal between channels...one wet and one dry. Awesome swampy tremolo.

The 1482 is a studio favorite, highly regarded as a secret weapon for recording studio crunch.

This amplifier’s circuit features all original components and is quiet at idle with no hum. The maintenance done was cleaning all contacts, lubrication/cleaning of the potentiometers and a grounded 3 prong AC cord. It is possible service may be needed in the future.

Cabinet constructed with lightweight particle board and composite materials with gray textured tolex. Like many Silvertone 1482s, some speaker bolts have loosened from the fiberboard baffle. All still function. The light Lil’ Texas Neo Speaker is held securely by the original 6 bolts.
